What This Policy Covers

This is a single master policy covering all Uncrossed Signals products. The product table below identifies app-specific data practices. All products are owned and operated by a single entity — Uncrossed Signals LLC — under a single Stripe account. There is one accountable party for all billing, data, and privacy concerns. Contact privacy@uncrossedsignals.com for any question or dispute.

What We Collect and Why

We aim to collect the minimum data needed to make our products work. This table is reviewed and updated as products move from prototype to launch, with a full review at least every six months.

Our Ad Policy

Uncrossed Signals does not use third-party advertising networks for behavioral tracking or audience profiling in any product.

Two products — AI Say It and Take 5 Translator — offer free tiers that may include contextual advertisements served through a third-party ad network. Contextual ads are matched to the general nature of the app, not to your personal data, behavior, or usage history.

StoryScribes uses a one-time purchase and paid subscription model — not advertising — to fund itself, including the Freddy editorial add-on, and is ad-free across all tiers as a result. All other Uncrossed Signals products — ATBridge, FocalFix, FindAConnection, and US411 — are currently planned as ad-free by design. They do not use AI as a core feature and carry no behavioral advertising.

The rule: ads appear only in the free tiers of AI-powered apps where AI is the core feature. Every other product is ad-free regardless of price.

How Our Apps Work Together

Take 5 Translator → AI Say It: Take 5 Translator helps you find the right words. If you want to practice delivering one of those phrases out loud, you copy it and paste it into AI Say It manually. That copy and paste is the only connection between the two apps. There is no data pipeline, no shared session, and no cross-app tracking. The two apps do not communicate with each other.

How AI Say It Uses Your Data

AI Say It analyzes both how you speak and what you say at a surface level — for example, identifying filler words or comparing your delivery against a practice phrase.

When you speak, your audio is transcribed on-device or via a speech processing service. That transcript is then processed by the Anthropic API to generate delivery feedback. Recordings are discarded immediately after analysis. We do not store, review, or use the content of your speech for any purpose beyond generating your in-session feedback.

If you practice against a sample phrase, the expected text may be passed to the API alongside your transcript to enable accuracy scoring. Sample content is not linked to your identity and is not retained.

  • No speech content is stored on our servers
  • No recordings are retained after your session ends
  • No speech data is used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than the feedback you requested

How Take 5 Translator Uses Your Data

You type or paste the message you want to rephrase. That text is submitted to the Anthropic API to be returned with different toned phrasing. The text you submit is processed for that request only and is not stored on our servers. You choose what to do with the response output.

No account is required to read, submit, or use any part of Take 5 Translator.

Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com. We recommend reviewing it.

How US411 Works

US411 is a free public information utility. No account is required to read or use any part of US411.

Feed data: Information is aggregated from publicly available sources by zip code. ZIP codes are used only for location matching, specifically to identify the nearest feed source. We do not associate ZIP codes with individual user accounts.

Community submissions: Uncrossed Signals LLC plans to offer community signal submission in a future release. No name, account, or contact information will be required or collected, and submissions will be anonymous.

Confirmations and flags: Uncrossed Signals LLC plans to offer the ability to confirm or flag community-submitted content anonymously. We will not collect or store who confirmed or flagged any item.

Community-submitted content, once available, will be labeled as such. It will represent the submitter's report — not a statement by US411 or Uncrossed Signals LLC. See our Terms of Use for full platform liability terms.

SMS/Text Messaging Privacy

US411 supports two types of text messaging: user-requested information responses and optional ZIP code alerts.

User-Requested Information: If you text the US411 SMS number to request information, your carrier transmits your phone number as part of that message. US411 uses your phone number only to respond to your request.

US411 does not create a user account from your phone number, link your phone number to a ZIP code, or use your phone number to send subscription or recurring messages based on a one-time request.

Optional ZIP Code Alerts: US411 may offer optional text alerts for selected ZIP codes. These alerts are sent only if you choose to opt in by entering your phone number and selecting the ZIP code or ZIP codes for which you want alerts.

If you opt in to ZIP code alerts, US411 uses your phone number only to send alerts for the ZIP code or ZIP codes you selected. Message frequency may vary based on available alerts.

You can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving text messages from the US411 SMS number. You can reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

Sharing: US411 does not sell your phone number or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Local Storage and User Preferences

Several Uncrossed Signals products store preferences locally on your device using your browser or app's built-in storage. This includes settings such as display preferences, search defaults, and UI choices. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it. It is not accessible to Uncrossed Signals. If you clear your browser or app storage, this data is removed permanently — we never had it.

Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking scripts. We may use minimal first-party analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (pages visited, general geography, device type). This data is not linked to individuals and is not shared. Our apps do not use advertising cookies.

Payments

Any paid features across Uncrossed Signals products are processed through Stripe. We do not store your payment card information — it is handled entirely by Stripe under their own PCI-compliant infrastructure. All purchases are made through a single Uncrossed Signals LLC Stripe account. Your billing history, receipts, and any disputes are traceable to one owner.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — Infrastructure, payment, and API providers (including Anthropic, Cloudflare, Google Workspace, and Stripe) who process data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.
  • Legal requirements — If required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
  • Business transfers — In the unlikely event of a merger or acquisition, users will be notified before any data transfer occurs.

Your Rights

Connecticut residents have rights under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), including the right to know what personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, delete your data, opt out of any sale of your data (we do not sell data, so this right is satisfied by default), and obtain a copy of your data in a portable format.

California residents may have additional rights under CCPA. Virginia, Colorado, Texas, and other state residents with applicable privacy laws may contact us at privacy@uncrossedsignals.com. We will respond within 45 days as required by Connecticut law.

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a potential security issue in any Uncrossed Signals product, please report it to privacy@uncrossedsignals.com rather than disclosing it publicly.

Changes to This Policy

We will post changes to this policy on this page and update the "Last reviewed" date at the top. For material changes, we will provide notice through the affected product or by email if we have your address. Continued use of our products after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
